Regular Basic Course / Night Time Academy (Extended Format / Non-Affiliate)

LOCATION: Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Regional Training Center, 6289 Madigan Road, Dublin CA 94568 [MAP]

Tuition rates are subject to change. Final tuition rate will be established prior to academy start date. 

Have you ever wanted to put yourself through an Academy but couldn’t take 6 months off work to do it?  Now’s your chance – come be a part of the 1st extended academy in the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office history.  This format is purposely designed to allow you to keep your day job, while studying for the career you want.    

The Academy starts January 19, 2021 and runs until December 8, 2021.  The hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night from 6PM -10PM and Saturday from 7AM - 5:30PM.  NOTE* You will also be required to attend approximately ten Sundays of instruction, as well.  The academy is 1,064 hours in length, which is the same number of hours as our intensive day time academy. 

Spots are limited, so act now to guarantee your space on the application list.  After signing up, your information will be provided to the night time academy coordinator, Sergeant Pickett.  He will provide you with his contact information and you will receive guidance on how to apply and a monthly email with regular updates.  In addition, you will be provided the opportunity to meet Sergeant Pickett, who will explain and demonstrate some of the physical fitness tests at our training center.  This will allow you to test yourself and become familiar with what the minimum requirements are, so you can learn what you need to do to get ready for an exciting career in law enforcement.  Be the change in law enforcement you want to see and sign up today!

Chabot College will schedule an intensive format Regular Basic Course Academy. Present and past academies are made up of a variety of law enforcement agency recruits. The academy is 1,064 hours in length.

POST CERTIFICATION: 1010-00100 - POST PLAN IV Reimbursable

COLLEGE CREDITS:  Chabot College will award 29 units for successful completion of the academy.

Basic Academy students may be eligible for student assistance through Chabot College.

Military Veterans may also be eligible for benefits with the GI Bill.

UPCOMING TEST DATES:  Test dates for the next Academy have not been determined.  Interested non-affiliate students may use the "Register" for the Academy link at the bottom of this page to place themselves on an interest list.  All students on this list will be notified of the application and testing schedule when the dates are established.
