Forensic Breath Alcohol Analysis Training-PM

NOW TRAINING ON THE DRAEGER ALCOTEST 9510
(Updated breath alcohol testing instrument replacing the 7110 MKIII-C)

DESCRIPTION: This course provides law enforcement personnel with comprehensive instruction on the theory, operation, and practical use of the Draeger Alcotest 9510 Breath Alcohol Testing Device, as well as an overview of legal considerations related to breath alcohol testing. Students will receive hands-on training using a Draeger Alcotest 9510 and must successfully complete both a written examination and a practical proficiency test.
Successful completion of this course is required for all law enforcement personnel prior to operating Alameda County Sheriff’s Office–supported Draeger Alcotest 9510 instruments. Each student must complete 4 hours of training to be certified to operate the device.

2901 Peralta Oaks Court, 1st Floor, Oakland, CA 94605

INSTRUCTOR(S): All instructors are certified by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Crime Laboratory.

PREREQUISITES: Enrollment is restricted to active law enforcement personnel.

CERTIFICATION: POST Cert #1010-20322, POST Plan IV

PRESENTATION HOURS: 1300-1700 hours (4 hours total)

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT / ATTIRE: Student dress code at the Peralta Oaks Facility – Crime Lab is business casual. No shorts, sleeveless shirts, or open-toed shoes are permitted.

RESERVATIONS: This course is limited to 16 students, and reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each student must register separately using the “Register” link.
